For the first time the federal government of Somalia has broken the silence on the reports suggesting Ethiopia interest on joining the African union mission in Somalia AMISOM.
Deputy prime minister who also doubles up as the foreign minister Fowzia Haji Yussuf said the government of Somalia welcomes the move to amalgamate the Ethiopian forces into the AMISOM peace mission in the country.
Mrs. Haji Yussuf Said the integration of the Ethiopian forces who are already inside Somalia will rejuvenate the AMISOM efforts to push Alshabab militia out of the country which poses a great security threat to the government of President Sheikh Mohamud.
Mrs. Haji Yussuf stressed the need for collaboration between the two neighboring countries for mutual consent saying the Ethiopia and Somalia need to work together.
